Since the 50’s, Remy International has been specialized in the design, engineering, fabrication and installation of customized equipment, machines and complete plants on turnkey basis for the production of steel drums: horizontal or vertical machines with capacities going up to 900 drums per hour and volumes ranging from 20 to 250 litres.

Our plants can be designed to produce various drum types on the same machines, with fast tooling-change-over units: cylindrical and tapered drums of different diameters and heights, tight-head or open top.

HORIZONTAL DRUM BODY FORMING & ASSEMBLING LINES
In case of replacement in existing lines, Remy can provide high speed horizontal body forming machines. Our design can adapt with different shape of existing step conveyors.
In order to increase the speed, the weight of the moving parts has been reduced and the movement improved by using high quality servo motor, allowing accurate beads location and multi beads.
In the case of hoops depth or corrugation profiles or gauges for the seamers, the changeover is ‘’immediate’’ as made automatically by recalling recorded recipes through the HMI.

Over the last decade, we have successfully developed an unrivalled range of Differential Pressure Leak Testers.
These testers, very accurate and reliable, come with a 4.0 software allowing collection of any required data.
Available versions with 2, 4 or even 6 stations, represent the perfect upgrade for a fully automatic testing to 1080 drums per hour.
Various options can be offered for the automatic evacuation of leaky drums, retesting of
failed drums, access platform, etc.

TURNKEY PLANTS

TURNKEY PLANTS have become a speciality at REMY INTERNATIONAL.
In the case of complete manufacturing plants, we cover all design, engineering and contracting aspects and our facilities offer enough room for the commissioning of entire or part of lines.

AUTOMATION AND SAFETY

CONTROL BOARDS can be provided with Siemens components and PLC as well as Allen Bradley or any other brand on demand. The HMI includes manual functions, messages, parameters and recipes for fast product changeover. It also provides access to adjustable parameters for more flexibility and stability.
Industry 4.0 is included into our systems. Smart sensors via IO-Link and bus system are used to communicate status and reduce production down times. Maintenance is improved by specific messages and the possibility of actuator’s automatic referencing in case of home position loss.
Statistics, production, machine status and alarms can be monitored via local or external network as standards and be reassembled in a supervision system (SCADA). Remote access worldwide is also possible for maintenance or fault finding.
SAFETY being one of our main concerns, risk assessment and safety design are part of our scope from the start of the conception. Safety can be fully integrated in the PLC (Safety PLC) or separated with specific safety components.
